Coolest spot near Madison. Literally. 😆
Forecast says 80°. Cave of the Mounds says 50°.
And honestly? That sounds like a pretty good deal right now. 😉
Just outside Mount Horeb, this underground world stays 50 degrees year-round...even when Wisconsin decides to turn into a sauna. Between the winding cave paths, underground pools, and rock formations that genuinely don’t feel real, it’s one of those places that makes you forget you’re still in the Midwest.
The best part? You can go from sitting in traffic near Madison to standing underground in a cave less than an hour later.
Not bad for a summer day trip.
