You may have seen earlier this week, Chef Steve met up with Alice Jo Ricketts, where she shared her recipes for traditional indigenous dishes. Steve got an A+ student award and passed the taste tests by Alice Jo, and now made another batch for this week!
So as promised, our soup du jour this week is:
Traditional Anishinaabe Corn Soup
A beloved Indigenous dish heavily featured in Saginaw Chippewa culture. It is prepared using hominy, simmered with a flavorful meat and broth, and served with a piece of traditional fry bread (that Alice Jo also helped him perfect!)

*this will be available tonight-Saturday, with the exception of Thursday, as we will be focusing solely on our Flavors of the World Dinner - Germany dinner.
**It will be available on DoorDash as well!

What a great day with WJR kicking off the Pure Michigan Golf Tour in Mt. Pleasant! ⛳️☀️

From golfing the Pines Golf Course, to dinner on the patio at HuntersAle House, then kicking off the broadcast this morning at the club house and wrapping up with lunch outdoors at Tally’s (yes, we tried the Cowboy Twinkies 🤠).

We highlighted what makes Mt. Pleasant a must-visit destination, from championship golf and outdoor adventure to great food, events, football, live entertainment, and local favorites.

Big thanks to General Manager and PGAS Pro-John Somerville (The Pines & Riverwood/Nine Eight Nine), Coach Matt Drinkall (CMU) and Erik Rodriguez, Interim Public Relations Director for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, for joining us to share what makes Mt. Pleasant feel like home.💛

If you’re exploring downtown mtp this weekend, be sure to check this out🎨❤️💛

Thanks to Art Reach and dozens of community volunteers, the streets are a little brighter after this year’s Paint the Pavement event. Leading up to Paint the Town Maroon, fresh maroon and gold artwork transformed downtown into a colorful celebration of community pride.

The amount of culture and Chippewa pride woven into the streets of downtown makes our hearts happy💛

Take a stroll downtown and check out what may be our favorite Paint the Pavement yet.✨
