Part of our role as guides is to capture the journey through photos and videos, creating a collection of memories for participants to cherish long after their time on Mount Shasta.

This wasn’t something we intentionally set out to offer. Over time, however, we noticed that we naturally began taking on this role during our tours. We also realized how meaningful it is for participants. By capturing these moments for them, we free them from the need to be behind their phones, taking photos themselves. Instead, they can be fully present, immersed in the landscape, the experience, and their own inner connection with Mama Shasta.

What began organically has now become an intentional part of our offering: allowing you to be fully present in the journey while we preserve the moments and memories for you to return to.

I do not know what to call moments like that except a kind of grace. A reminder that this mountain is always offering something, whether or not we are paying attention. And for a moment, walking beside David, I was paying attention.
I keep coming back to a feeling I had in that moment, that light like this is not only for the person lucky enough to be standing there when it breaks through. It belongs to all of us. This mountain, this land, holds something that is not mine or David's to keep, it is here for anyone willing to slow down enough to receive it.

Ascension Rock. Bunny Flat. Panther Meadows. Three places on this mountain that have held me this month, while I have been holding a lot myself.
Ceremonies, tours, client work I care about, and Temple of Light and Sound quietly taking shape underneath it all. Every part of it is something I love. And there is a difference between carrying a full life and actually having time to put any of it down, even for a few days.

There is a place on this mountain where the rocks remember everything.

Dragon Rock is one of the most powerful vortex sites on Mount Shasta. Ancient volcanic stone, shaped by forces older than any of us can imagine, holding an energy that you feel before you can name it. We brought a small group here recently and watched what happened when people simply sat with it. Quietly. Without agenda.

The mountain did the rest.

This is what our tours are. Not sightseeing. Not a checklist. A genuine encounter with the living energy of this place, held by two guides who have been in relationship with this mountain for a combined 40 years.

When sound meets nature doors to our inner self open.

When David and I bring instruments into the open air on the slopes of Mount Shasta, into the forest, beside the creek, under the open sky, energy shifts that is different from what happens indoors. The mountain amplifies. The elements receive. The body remembers something it has always known.

In Nada Yoga, one of the oldest philosophical traditions in the world, sound is understood as the very basis of creation. The Sanskrit teaching Nada Brahma translates simply as: the world is sound. Everything that exists, including each of us, is made of vibration. Sound does not just move through us. It is us.

This is what we carry into every tour we create with our participants at Mount Shasta Light and Sound Tours. Sharing the medicine of sound in nature is one of our deepest joys. In the open air, with the mountain present, sound becomes a powerful way to arrive in the body, ground into the earth, open the heart, and open the gateways to connecting with something far larger than the everyday.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of guiding Kim and her son Casey through the sacred landscape of Mount Shasta. Ancient forest. Sacred spring water. The mountain was holding us in the way that she does, quiet and vast and completely present.

There is a moment on every tour where something shifts. Where people stop looking and start feeling. Yesterday we watched it happen, and it reminded us exactly why we do this work.

Gratitude doesn't quite cover it. But it's a good place to start.

A quick June update for our community. 💛

Our Cacao Ceremony & Sound Journey planned for June 26th has been moved to Saturday, June 27th. Everything else on the calendar remains the same.

We're especially excited for our Summer Solstice Cacao Ceremony & Sound Journey on June 19th, a time to gather in community and honor the light, growth, and abundance of the season.
