You don't have to wait 'til Halloween for spooky celebrations 👻

Head to Washington Park in Anacortes for a haunted forest walk filled with suspense, dark corners, and creatures lurking through the trees 🌲

Recommended for adults and older children. This is a night trail walk so it is required to bring a flashlight or headlamp. Costumes are encouraged!

Artists, this one’s for you. 🎨🌷

Ready to put your own spin on tulip season? Submissions are open for the 2027 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival Art Exhibit!

Artists age 16+ from Skagit, Snohomish, Whatcom, Island, and San Juan Counties are invited to submit up to two tulip-themed 2D pieces for consideration. Around 25–30 works will be selected for the exhibit, with one artist chosen as our 2028 Official Festival Poster Artist and awarded a $1,000 prize! 🌷 Plus, visitors will vote for their favorite work for our People’s Choice Award ($200).

More and more snow geese are reaching the Skagit Valley! Snow geese season, one of the most beloved wildlife displays in the region, is arriving 🪽

Skagit Valley is a major wintering gound for these birds. They migrate from Wrangel Island, Russia, and call the sloughs and fields of the their winter home.

Although the peak viewing season starts next month, we're happy that these guys are already starting to reach the valley. Find them at Fir Island, Wylie Slough, Padilla Bay or the Samish Flats ☁️
