We were honored to welcome Missouri Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger to Lawrence County hosted by State Representative Mitch Boggs for a day spent showcasing some of the incredible places, people, and projects that make our communities special.
The tour included stops at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, and next the Lawrence County Route 66 sign project made possible through support from the Lieutenant Governor’s Office. We visited the historic Mickey Owen Baseball School where guests heard about the revitalization and preservation efforts conducted by the Hadlock family to honor its history, but also the tremendous efforts to enhance that legacy by making Mickey Owen Baseball School a premiere destination to play, enjoy local fine dining, and stay in the beautifully restored Route 66 Cabin Rentals. Guests enjoyed lunch prepared by The Dining Hall Steakhouse & Event Center, and the day concluded at Humpback Dairy near Miller, highlighting the strength and innovation of our very diverse local agricultural industry.
We are grateful for leaders who take the time to visit our communities, listen to local voices, and see firsthand the opportunities and successes happening right here in Lawrence County. Strong relationships between local, regional, and state leaders as well as partnerships with business owners help create a brighter future for our businesses, residents, and communities.
Thank you to Representative Mitch Boggs and his wife Lynn, Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger, and everyone who made accommodations and helped make today’s tour possible. Thank you to local leaders, regional partners, and all who attended.
We 🤍 Lawrence County!
