I still giggle when I think about it. When Jim
and I began dating in 2005, he often told me as a major selling point for me to date him, that he had great friends. The kind of friends that will come in the middle of the night if you need them, any time of day for whatever the need would be. Jim would never take advantage of that fact but he knew he had an army of people at the ready. Then he told me that because they are his friends they immediately all became mine and my daughters friends and would be available at the ready for us too.

Jim was right, although, he understated that fact. Jim (and now I) had friends and family that are the dearest, kindest, most loving people that I’ve had the honor to know. They have carried me through this transitional time of letting Jim go to his new life in heaven. They have helped me through the many responsibilities of saying goodbye and handling the affairs of my sweetest prayer warrior who left me too soon.

Every moment that I breathe on this planet I will be grateful to these kind, strong folks who have let me know in so many ways that I am not alone. A few pictures to share with these great friends and family; and so many more to mention not in these pictures but forever in my hearts. I will always love each of you and be forever grateful for your support. Jim, thanks for being my special prayer warrior, thank you for sharing your cherished family and friends and thanks to each of you that I’ve been blessed to know through Jim. I have missed many names, it is not intentional, I am blessed by and grateful for knowing all!

Rest in peace sweetie. Love you always! ❤️

Many thanks to all who helped make Jim’s Memorial Service a huge success. A well deserved tribute to an awesome man of God, as Happy Lempesis described the living example of yin/yang. Tough, decisive and firm when he needed to be while remaining soft with a heart of gold on the inside.

So many to thank.... Pastor Darrell Collins for officiating, Crystal Cassels for adding a touch of class and excellence with her superb piano playing, my daughters Kristen and Katie for their beautiful accompaniment on flute and clarinet, Katherine Vaughn for not only reading Psalm 46 but for staying with Jim during his battle with the tumor while I was working, Ed Vaughn and beautiful daughter Molly who helped so much on the sidelines and continues to, and Deanna and son Logan who are the kindest, most supportive people you can meet. Thanks to Kendall for video taping. Thanks to Happy, Wally, Shihan Brandon, David and Christal Lee for their kind and humorous stories of Jim. Special thanks to Ellen Laquiere who could not attend due to her dedication to her grandchildren with the flu but was with us in spirit. Ellen came to be at Jim’s side every morning his last week at 5:30am to comfort Jim until I got there. She is that kind of person. Also to the Villages of Summerville and their chaplain Achim Daffin, to hospice of Charleston and their chaplain Marshall and bereavement coordinator with a most compassionate heart, Sherry Poole. For every one who visited with Jim and prayed with Jim, you all know who you are, too many to post..... thank you! This page does not let me tag during my text so I will tag in comment below. If I leave anyone out, please forgive me. God bless us all!!
