Thank you to UPPCO/Upper Peninsula Power Company 💡 who is a Platinum Sponsor of Pictured Rocks Days this year! The free event will take place on Friday and Saturday, June 13 & 14, 2025 at Munising's Binsfeld Bayshore Park.📍
UPPCO is a fully independent, U.P.-based electric utility servicing 10 counties in the central and western portion of Michigan's Upper Peninsula including: Alger, Delta, Marquette, Menominee, Schoolcraft, Baraga, Houghton, Iron, Ontonagon, and Keweenaw. The company distributes electricity to more than 55,000 customers.
Unlike power companies in more populated areas, UPPCO customers are spread out over nearly 4,460 square miles – much of it heavily forested. Despite the rugged terrain and the U.P’s average annual snowfall of 200+ inches, the utility excels at providing customers with dependable service and safe, reliable energy.
Upper Peninsula Power Company has been serving the people of the Upper Peninsula with electrical service for over 135 years. Each year UPPCO provides as many as 150 Upper Peninsula non-profit organizations and associations with grants and volunteer support that improve the quality of life in the region.
