Its getting to be that time of year again, the leaves will be changing before we know it, nights will be getting colder, we will be out chasing the elusive 30 point buck and the river fishing will be heating up with our fall salmon runs. Come on out to Chatham on September 12 for a great day of archery, lunch, some time in the beautiful outdoors and just an all out fun day. This is a great event that i have gone to annually in memory of a good friend that we lost way too young. This is a great family archery event that is geared towards the youngest first time shooter all the way through your most seasoned archer! Even if you dont shoot but are interested, come on out, chat with the guys and see what it is all about. Hope to see you all there!

As a fishing guide operating in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and visiting Hawaii for the first time, we had to jump on a charter boat while visiting Hawaii to try out some new species and it did not disappoint. Captain Jerry and Shibu know there stuff, very pleasant guys to get on the water with and make sure to make your trip memorable. If you are ever on the big island give them a shout they will make sure you have a good time and find the fish!

When you park the boat for winter, its a good idea to make sure you dont put snow banks in front of it..... But for those of us that are slow learners, we buy side by sides on tracks and obnoxious diesels to get them out... Its out! Let the fun begin! We will be booking summer trips soon! Just got a care package from Big-Nasty Tackle. Excited to try the Pout punisher and the Jaw breakers on some shu-pac! If they perform anything like their Trout-n-Pout, we should be seeing some big burbs hitting the ice!

Just out playing on the bay, figured i would give you all an ice report. I would be careful and check the ice before you venture out especially with equipment and avoid the trouble areas but it is still 90% accessible with equipment and I expect it to hold for a week or so depending on the rain that we get.. We have measured an average of 22" with about 8" of good clear ice on the bottom with some areas still measuring over 30" with 8 to 10 of clear.. The top 14" or so is deteriorating but still supporting our sleds and sxs. Give us a shout if you want to get out we can still squeeze a couple trips in!

Here is a little video that ChrisFish Outdoors threw together. It was definitely a fun filled evening and so many great memories made. This is what I love about the greatest lake in the world! The opportunities out their are endless out there, friendships and memories made. I would consider this trip 100% success! A huge thanks to Chris for getting all of the awesome footage he got out there. As guides we try to catch all the footage we can but it can be a challenge, making sure everything is operating smoothly, helping clients land fish, and just wrapping your head around it all at times can be a challenge in itself so having someone else turn their camera on makes for some interesting footage that we don't normally see. Here are some more pics from our trip out on Munising bay with ChrisFish Outdoors and his son River. It was a fun evening, piling up coho and burbot. My fiance Sam, her dad and my niece and nephew joined for the fun also to help pile up some fish. It was sure alot of fun with them all and look forward to getting them all out again with us. Had several first burbots on the ice and several first cohos through the ice! Trips are always so much fun when you get the kids on the fish!

During our drive through Autrain today, we witnessed people walking on unstable ice banks and float ice. We stopped at the rest stop to observe, and noticed they were about to step onto an area of ice that was less than 1 inch thick, having formed overnight. I warned the individual about the unsafe conditions, stressing that the ice was not stable. It is essential to be aware of the risks associated with unfamiliar ice formations and to seek advice from experienced individuals before venturing out. The unstable banks pose a significant hazard at this time of year.
