Fun facts! Lake Tahoe has only one island. Now called Fannette Island! It’s in the middle of Emerald Bay. On the shore sits a mansion started in 1928 and finished end of 1929. The mansion is known as Vikingsholm Castle. The mansion has 38 rooms with a sod roof and is known as one of the best Scandinavian architectural designs in America! It’s open for tour during summer months. We did not get the chance to tour it or get close enough for a pic unfortunately! The island is hard to miss though. It was originally home to an English sea captain Dick Barter. He built a cabin, chapel, and tomb there. He did not get to fill his own tomb as he died on the Rubicon Trail and was never found. Later Mrs. Lora Josephine Knight removed his buildings and built her a tea house while building Vikingsholm. The “tea house” still stands there today. Later owner Mr. Harvey West negotiated a deal to donate half and sell half of the 232 acre estate to the state of CA, which in turn created the state park.

Yosemite was incredible. Sequoia National was mind blowing! King’s canyon was worth every minute. A little over 1,200 miles this trip of overall great scenery and perfect weather. We had a dang blast, ate some good food, and made some new friends! Here’s some more random pics!

Nevada Wildlife Management has reached out and requested all photos and info we may regarding a sighting of what others are calling a phenomenon! They think it may be clues to the legend-
Tahoe Tessie (Lake Tahoe): Straddling the California-Nevada border, Lake Tahoe is said to be home to a massive, serpent-like creature. Sightings date back to the Washoe Tribe's traditional stories and mid-19th-century accounts. Described by modern witnesses as a dark, humpless creature that leaves large wakes, Tessie remains Nevada's most famous aquatic cryptid!

Woke in Reno! Yesterday
9-17-26 We took out of Jackson thinking about BLT’s from one of our favorite places Cutthroat Tavern! Great ride there. Once again felt right at home here. Awesome lunch and got a ghost tour from Ali! JT you have a great place man! It was suggested we make the next stop Genoa, NV. We were convinced when W***y said follow me! W***y owns the oldest saloon in NV. Called Genoa Bar- "Nevada's Oldest Thirst Parlor". The town is great. The Thirst Parlor is amazing! The history and the stories. If only those walls could talk! W***y thank you so much! Reluctantly tabbed out and rolled on back. Got back with about 5 minutes to spare. Rolling Freedom Motorcycles & EagleRider Lake Tahoe checked us in and it was off to the hotel! Casino hotel for the win. Great dinner! Nashville is next! Mr. George T Stagg Jr sorry you can’t make it home!!!

Woke in Jackson, Ca how’d we get here?
9-16-26 Leaving Three Rivers and we have to start making our way back unfortunately. Going back up the mountain to see Sherman is too timely so it’s a different route but will go back through Oakhurst and have some BBQ for lunch. There wasn’t much to grab pics of unless you love oranges. We must have drove 100 miles through all kinds of citrus orchards. Some spots you could smell it so crisp. While in Oakhurst we saw some weird stuff! From there we found a really cool old town Coulterville. Home of the oldest operating saloon in CA! Fernando was great he’s not usually open on Wednesday but was there getting his buddy a water, so we had a Banquet! Back on the road we went through so many really cool tiny towns. Eventually landing in Jackson! Dinner at The Duke super cool boutique hotel and a stroll down Main St. All these towns have so many stories of gold rush days! Alright where were we?
Woke up in Three Rivers, CA! But yesterday…
9-15-26 Leaving Oakhurst and headed to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks! Around 2.5 hours of kinda bare hills kind of desert ish! Skirted Fresno and into the park. Again words only describe it if you’ve seen it. These trees are among giants! The Grant Tree is 107’ around. It takes 27 people to lock arms to wrap it. It’s just unbelievable! We rode all around the park jaws dropped every turn at another huge tree. We eventually headed toward King’s Canyon! Following a river for a lot of the ride it made for a perfect place to stop for a sip and dip! Cold water cooled Mr Stagg right on down! Dead end road and right back out we go. Same road in the other direction. Felt like an entire new place! Maybe the windiest road I’ve ever ridden getting us out and into Three Rivers! It got dark on our way out and it was awesome. As the darkness set in each turn the headlights became more and more relevant and it was the coolest! Pizza for dinner and 1 of 2 restaurants and bedtime! Perfect weather again!

Well I fell out of routine while gone and never got to post the rest of the trip. HAD to come home and it’s been catch up since. But stay tuned, about to pick up where we left off!
