Columbia has been featured in numerous movies and television shows from the 1930s through the 1990s, but major film productions had mostly disappeared by the mid-1990s. We still occasionally see smaller production companies filming indie movies, commercials, and other projects around town.

Here, a film crew is setting up a scene at the intersection of Main and State streets in October 2019 for what appears to be a 1930s period production. Judging by the covered load in the back of the old pickup truck, the scene may have involved moonshine or bootlegging. Local residents were also used as extras during the filming.
