Starting June 28, 2026, Disney World is permanently closing a popular loophole: you'll now need an active resort, dining, or other qualifying reservation (checked via MagicBand, room key, or My Disney Experience) to ride the Disney Springs buses or boat to a resort hotel.

This doesn't ban resort hopping for on-site guests — they can still hop on any resort's bus. Other transportation like the monorail and ferries isn't affected.

This change is an effort to stop people parking at Disney Springs and using Disney transportation to get to the parks. Resort guests will notice no change.

The Carousel of Progress is getting a HUGE update! The four scenes will include the 1960s, 1980s (current last scene), turn of the millennium and "A Possible Future" in a home off world. So exciting to get an update finally!

The Carousel of Progress will close July 6 and reopen sometime in 2027.
