The rentals sit on 24 acres of beautiful prairie restoration with walking trails and a pond offering a very quite and peaceful break from the world. The 30' x 16' apartment is attached to our garage and adjacent to our home. The Tinyhouse is a separate unit on the property offering more privacy. Great for travelers. All Springfield, Illinois Abraham Lincoln sites are within an hours drive as well as the sate fair grounds in Springfield. Approximately 2 hours north of St. Louis near historic Jacksonville, Illinois. Jacksonville is approximately a 20 minute drive with many dining opportunities and normal shopping opportunities. Springfield is about a 50 minute drive with many more shopping and dining opportunities. These are both very nice rentals available for short stays for those who want to get away from city life for a weekend, those who are just traveling through but don't want to stay in a hotel and families visiting their students at Illinois College. There is lots of space for kids to explore or adults to relax with a country walk through native prairie or you can sit by the pond and enjoy the tranquility of the country without the sounds of the city. Listen to the birds, frogs, crickets, and view the evening stars without city lights. Perhaps you will see a herd of deer or two that are very common to this area. We normally see several a day or sometimes herds of up to 30 deer are common in the fall and winter. A fishin pond is available if you bring the fishing equipment with blue gill and bass fishing. You're welcome to catch and release or catch, clean and serve for your dinner. Although fishing is allowed when the pond is clear of moss, no hunting is allowed on the property. This is, however, a great location for hunters visiting the area who would otherwise stay in a hotel. Morgan county is a high deer population county and adjacent to Pike County which is one of the nations leading hunting counties for white tail deer.
