"Following Spirit Airlines’ announcement that it has ceased operations across the country, including at Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR), Visit Myrtle Beach is working closely with MYR and community leaders to address the impact this has on our region, including supporting affected employees and travelers. While this news is unfortunate, Myrtle Beach remains accessible through a diverse network of carriers, and visitors should continue to travel with confidence. The greater Myrtle Beach region is resilient, and our goal is to keep Myrtle Beach accessible and affordable for visitors as well as provide a prosperous quality of life for residents."

Myrtle Beach showed up at Hospitality Day in a big way.

Congratulations to Angela Livingston of Marriott’s OceanWatch Villas at Grande Dunes, named South Carolina’s 2026 Hospitality Employee of the Year. Her work as a pre-arrival specialist sets the tone for the entire visitor experience—and it’s clearly making an impact.

We’re also proud to see Joshua Haney of Huntington Beach State Park recognized as Upper Coastal Region Ranger of the Year.

And a special welcome to Georgia VanHeusen, who was honored as the Sandhills Region Ranger of the Year and is now bringing that same level of excellence to Myrtle Beach State Park.

From hotels to state parks, it takes all of us to create the experiences visitors remember.
