I have so many favorite things about TLEO! One of my very favorites is watching the most amazing unobstructed sunsets from our backyard and decks. I hope all of our guests get at least one sunset like this one on their stay this summer!

We love the beach sunrises full of all different beach birds! This was taken on our most recent trip to get our home ready for visitors. We are hoping that our guests get to see many beautiful sunrises and sunsets during their stays this summer☀️✨

We hung our vintage surfboard that we recently purchased. We also added my favorite rocker. I love them both in this room!

Another project completed and another addition I’m excited about for our guests. It seems like our backyard space often gets overlooked and goes unused. We plan to create an awesome space in the yard where we hope our guests will spend many hours playing and laughing. This frisbee golf goal is just the start of a couple year long project.

I’m pretty excited about our newest addition to our pool area. My husband and a friend just set up our new outdoor foosball table. We will be trying it out this afternoon after we finish our projects for the day!

On our recent stay at They Love Each Other, we each did some projects. I did lots of painting touch ups/fresh coats on outdoor furniture, sanded, primed and painted this old stained furniture (I love it purple!) and my husband built us a bar out of our broken picnic table. We have been very productive our last couple of visits😊

We purchased this home arcade system recently and it will be delivered on Friday. We think we know where we want to put it but we’d love input from guests who have stayed in our home. We didn’t buy this for ourselves; we bought it for our guests so your opinions matter. Previous guests, where do you think we should put this? Comment here or message us.

We love spending time in Manteo and are happy that it’s such a short drive from TLEO. It’s definitely a pretty little town and it’s even prettier around Christmas🎄❤️

Our rentals for 2022 are over. We had a successful summer season. Our new management company has been wonderful to work with. I hope our guests all experienced the same on their end.

It’s now time to start some upgrades, repairs and replacement of some missing items. We actually cut rentals off early and have decided not to rent in the off season as much (if at all) next year. Sadly, most of the damage and theft was caused by our off season September guests.

As bummed as I was to have to replace all of our blankets again this year, I’m equally as excited about the blankets we purchased. The two shown below are my favorites…both so soft and pretty😊

We also purchased and installed new toilet seats in all bathrooms. My husband is pretty excited that we purchased the slow close lids…sometimes it’s the little things.

My favorite upgrade we made this past week was the installation of new shower heads in two of our showers. I just got out of the shower and absolutely loved the new shower head! I hope those of you who visit enjoy them as well! I also hope that our cleaners find the handheld attachment makes cleaning the showers easier.

We have lots more planned to keep us busy during this off season. We hope that all of our guests appreciate the upgrades/additions and have an even better experience when they visit next summer🥰

What an amazing morning! We scheduled a sailboat excursion to celebrate our anniversary redo (Covid messed with our 4/20 celebration). It was absolutely perfect! Yummy food, cold drinks, awesome music, friendly hosts, perfect weather, an absolutely beautiful vintage sailboat and the best company💞 We loved how they personalize the trip just for us with all of our favorites!

If you are looking for something a little different and special to do in the Outer Banks, we highly recommend Coastal Sols! Worth every penny. We are hoping we can convince some friends to join us in the future⛵️

I saw this game online and thought it would be a fun addition to TLEO. I was able to set it up but didn’t get a chance to play it yet. Looking forward to playing when we come down in August. Hope our guests enjoy it!

I recently thought to myself, how lucky we are to own a small piece of the Outer Banks, a place that brings so much happiness to so many people...and how lucky is our house to be a part of so many vacations and in so many family photos! I realize that many guests look forward to their stay at the beach, count down their days until their vacation and even think of their week in our home as one of the best weeks of their year and I take my job of getting the house ready for our guests’ vacations seriously.

I feel ever so grateful to be a part of a special time for so many. I do my best to make our home ready and stocked with everything our guests need for a perfect vacation. While we are at our home in the off season, we think about what might make our guests’ stays more pleasant...some things are big items like replacing the carpets with luxury vinyl plank and other things are smaller like purchasing games we think guests might enjoy. We try to imagine ourselves on vacation in our home and think about what’s missing or what could be done to make it even better. We plan to do a little bit every year hoping that repeat guests will have something new to enjoy on each visit.

If you are renting our house this summer, please message me if you think of anything you wish we had but didn’t…it might be something that’s already in the works for the future or might be something we never even thought of. Either way, we will include it in our future wish list as long as it is feasible. We plan to update/upgrade every year as much as we are able.

I love writing in the sand & watching the water wash it up. I usually write the name of our beach house, the town I’m visiting and the year or favorite quotes. Who else does this?

When I’m at the beach, I love to spend as much time as possible outside. I love the sound of the surf, the views especially at sunrise and sunset, the smell of the ocean and the cool beach breezes. We purchased additional outdoor furniture to help provide more usable outdoor space for our guests.

We purchased a picnic table for our front deck on the top floor and a pub table for our top back deck. We hope you get to enjoy some meals outdoors with your friends and families this summer.

Before the rental season last year, we had 6 lounge chairs. At the end of the season, only two remained. We still have those for guests to use. We purchased two sturdy wooden lounge chairs this year. We hope guests are able to enjoy these chairs for years to come.

We still have our hammock out front and all of our Adirondack chairs by the pool and on the decks for guests. We decided to purchase two child sized Adirondack chairs for our youngest guests to enjoy…even though our daughters are adults now, I couldn’t resist these cute little chairs.

We hope that all of our guests find a favorite outdoor area to enjoy this year! I think my favorite might be the pub table. I LOVE watching the sunset with drinks and big charcuterie board with friends or having a romantic sunset dinner with my husband out on our back deck✨

We have been busy painting the white trim and decks the last three weeks. We hired painters who let us help with the painting. Good thing they did or we wouldn’t have finished before summer rentals.

When we purchased the house, you could see rusted nails. We couldn’t find anyone to paint our first year renting and are so happy we were able to get it done this year. It is a long process handling the rust. First, we scraped the rust from each nail. We then sanded each nail. Then we painted with a product designed to stop the nail from rusting (we know this is a temporary stop to the rust). Then, we painted the railings.

We missed out on a whole week of painting because of the Nor’easter and the crazy wind it brought to the Outer Banks. The wind from the storm lasted a full week and brought crazy strong winds. The water in the toilets was actually splashing at times and you could feel the whole house move, especially laying in bed at night.

The paint makes such a difference. I’m very happy we were able to tackle this project before summer rental season.
