If you’ve never experience a beach bonfire, you’re missing out! Pit fires are allowed on our beach, AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A PERMIT.

Permits are issued between 5:30 p.m. and midnight daily based on current wind speed and fire danger conditions. They are valid the day of issue only, through midnight, and are valid only within the Town of Nags Head.

Before you leave, ensure your fire has been extinguished and any trash has been removed.

Beach pit fires are allowed on Nags Head's beach with a permit from the Fire and Rescue Department.
