We provide weekly and monthly rentals in the summer months, as well as shorter stays all year long.

Scenes from my evening walk. I ❤️ early summer on - everything comes alive. The grey lady turns a succulent shade of green… the momma and baby bunnies are lounging in the grass, my friend the hawk is standing watch atop the flag pole, the seals are stretching out on Tom Nevers Beach… it’s pure magic. Reason No. 333 to and - The Sankaty Head Lighthouse… a nice hike or short bike ride away from the house you’ll find this island treasure.

A few fun facts:
- in 1848 congress appropriated a whole $12,000 to buy the 10 acre parcel (for $250) and build the lighthouse! Wowser!
- Alexander D. Bunker was the first lighthouse keeper and had a lovely brick house attached to the lighthouse for his home
- in 1850 Sankaty flashed for the first time with a whale oil light (precious fuel for sure) and a newfangled and impressive Fresno Lens
- in 1852 the lighthouse was cited for the extraordinary strength of its beam… and all US lighthouses were ordered to have the same ‘Fresnel lens’
- in 1987 the lighthouse was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places.
-and in 2007 this beautiful lighthouse was moved 405 feet to its new location by the Sconset Trust to ensure its safety from the eroding bluff

And the MOST fun fact? You can see it blinking every day from Sea Lion…
