April is here and this month’s reminders bring us that much closer to departure day!

1. You have your passport already, right? If you haven’t applied for your passport, please do so immediately.
2. UK ETA - Make sure you have this taken care of BEFORE you leave. Our blog will walk you through applying for the UK ETA.
3. Here are some things to pack for your European adventure: travel clothes, performance clothes, walking shoes, packing cubes and a phone charger.

We are another month closer to departure date! Here are this month's important planning tips:

1. Your backpack size - We’re not talking camping-in-the-mountains-for-days-size, but rather something more like what you’d take to school or smaller and fairly lightweight. No wheels, just comfortable straps or crossbody style.

2. In our travels, you’ll spend euros, British pounds and Swiss francs when you’re buying snacks and souvenirs along the way. Before the trip, think through how you’d like to pay for things with your parents.

3. Passports, passports, passports! Stop what you're doing and start the process now if you don't have yours yet.

4. UK ETA - You won’t be allowed on a plane bound for the UK without one. Head to our blog to read through how to secure the UK ETA.

As we count the days till we cross the pond for this summer’s European adventures, there is a new critical and time-sensitive item that needs to be on your radar: Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) for traveling to the United Kingdom.

Effective January 8, 2025, all US travelers bound for the United Kingdom in any capacity will need an ETA. You won’t be allowed on a plane bound for the UK without one.

We are so excited to share the Northern California Ambassadors of Music will be traveling with us in the summer of 2027 under the leadership of Angelina Gomez!

Angelina Gomez is the Director of Bands at California State University, Chico in Chico, California. She is an active clinician and adjudicator and has conducted bands nationally and internationally. Dr. Gomez is excited to embark on Northern California’s first Ambassadors of Music European Tour.

It may be snowing just outside your window, but summer days in warm and welcoming European cities are just around the corner. ☀️

Here are two important reminders for your upcoming tour:
1. Don't wait to get your passport! If you don't already have yours, we strongly suggest that you select "expedited processing" in the application to make sure you receive it in time.

2. Pack like a pro! Only bring a suitcase, your instrument case, a carry-on (usually a backpack) and a small personal item like a purse. Make sure your suitcase is 60 linear inches (H+W+D=60 or less) and max 50lbs.

We are thrilled to announce that the Massachusetts Ambassadors of Music will be making their maiden voyage, in summer of 2026, under the leadership of Dr. Timothy Todd Anderson as the state coordinator!

Dr. Anderson has been the director of the University of Massachusetts Minuteman Marching Band since 2011, as well as the conductor of the UMass Concert Band, and the Amherst Community Band.
