What labs should you test for TRT?
There are thousands of blood tests that can be ordered, so please don’t be mislead when someone says we are ordering a “full panel” or a “complete panel”.
🚩If a doctor says this, it is a red flag to me that there is going to be missing tests. It’s NOT possible to survive the amount of blood they would need to take in order to do a “full panel” of the available tests.
In addition, the ideal situation is to get an assessment by a professional who can order the lab tests that YOU need based on your symptoms and health history. No matter what, here are a few crucial ones you need to have on the list:
🔹Total Testosterone
🔹SHBG
🔹Estradiol
🔹LH
🔹CBC w/ DIFF
🔹CMP
🔹PSA
There are quite a few more tests that should be tested to evaluate blood sugar, thyroid, lipid levels, additional estrogen & other hormones, hormone pre-cursors, vitamin levels and other important health factors. But, at an absolute bare minimum, the above tests can at least keep you safe and help determine if it makes sense to start TRT.
