The dog days of summer are here but the heat hasn’t stopped the bite. Martin got to enjoy his first ever Permit session on a gorgeous slicked off morning last week. Pulled on a few, landed his first ever and we were back to the dock before 1:00. We are currently 97/170 on Permit this year. Who is gonna be the one to land number 100? .perrybedell .weston.bedell

Blue water Permit were in an all out frenzy with the slick conditions and abundance of pass crabs floating everywhere. We got to watch them push each other out of the way and come completely out of the water to eat the crabs. A special outing to say the least. Sam landed a monster coming in at 41”. A personal best he probably won’t top for a long time! Late summer Permit bite has been stellar. .perrybedell

All it takes is one good shot to go from zero to hero. With the schools of fish getting smaller in our area recently we decided to head elsewhere instead of grinding it out. We followed our intuition and our efforts were rewarded. Stumbled across a school of 100 giant Permit free swimming in the middle of nowhere in 15 feet of water. Summer has officially arrived in Naples, and while the temperatures are soaring and afternoon thunderstorms roll in like clockwork, the fishing has reached that magical peak that makes every drop of sweat and rumble of thunder completely worth it. Took a quick afternoon stroll to grab some fresh water for the crab tank but we had to check in with our boys while we were out. They were right where we left them and happy as can be. Picked up Weston after the trip and scooped some more premo crabs to top off the tank. We are loaded down and ready for an epic upcoming week.
