A lot of advice about content creation misses the point that this is a form of self expression.

If you are constantly imitating others, following trends, etc. it’s unlikely you’ll be able to be sustainable over time.

But even if you don’t want to make content full time, it’s still an incredible medium for sharing ideas, reflections, personal projects, etc.

Everyone has their own unique story to tell, and it’s pretty incredible to live in a time where you can distribute media to people all over the world.

My challenge to myself is to shorten the time from idea to ex*****on. No need to overcomplicate it!

What an experience…

Finally crossed off seeing a show at off the bucket list!

I had been waiting for the right show to come along, and when I saw was performing, I knew I had to see her in this unique venue.

Thank you to Ichiko’s team and The Caverns for allowing me to bring a camera inside and capture a few moments from the show.

The Caverns are located in Grundy County, about 1.5-2 hours from Nashville.

They host a huge variety of artists, from Bluegrass to EDM. Check out their website to see who is coming next!

Were any of you at Ichiko’s show? Have you seen a show at The Caverns? Let me know!

Tacos from + a confirmed game 7, does it get any better than that?

I love basketball almost as much as I love tacos. Monte Albán grill is one of my new favorites!

It’s one of the few (only?) places you can get a tlayuda in Nashville! (If you don’t eat pork, just make sure to tell them no chorizo and no Manteca on your tlayuda)

My friend ordered the chicken tacos and they looked great. Usually chicken is an afterthought at most taquerias.

The meat is well seasoned and the salsas actually taste different than the other 200 taco trucks in the area.

Find them here 👇🏼

Show this spot some love! I believe right now they are open from 3pm-11pm

Who yall got in game 7?? Wemby legacy game incoming!

The Murfreesboro Lao New Year is this weekend, kicking off Friday 5/22!

This is one of my favorite events of the year, and I’m so grateful for my Lao friends and the greater Lao community that has welcomed me for this amazing celebration!

Especially excited to be a sponsor for the float on Sunday!

The event takes place at Wat Lao Buddharam Temple in Murfreesboro.

Entry each day is $15 cash per person.

On Friday and Saturday the event goes on into the evening (I want to say 11pm?) and on Sunday, the parade starts at 1pm.

My favorite thing to get are the khao nom krok (coconut pancakes) from my girl Tia!

It was their mom’s dream to open a restaurant.

People have been telling me to check out .kabob for years so I finally made that drive down I-24!

I was impressed with the food, and even more impressed by Naser and Salem, the twin brothers who own and operate Murfreesboro Kabab.

This video is part of Jaunts, a series with where we highlight restaurants off the beaten path!

Their recipes come from their mom, who loves cooking and always wanted to own her own restaurant. I really wanted to film with her sons but she had to go before I could get the shot!

When the twins graduated high school, the opportunity arrived and they opened Murfreesboro Kabob with their family.

While only in their early-mid 20s, they have the grit and determination of some serious restaurant industry vets!

They’ve upgraded their packaging, added coffee and specialty drinks, and have a food truck rolling out in East Nasvhville.

Their thin, crispy shawarma is exactly the type of shawarma I love. I took the kabobs home to my family and the Saba household approved, so you know they’re legit!

Thanks for watching and let us know where we should go for the next episode of Jaunts!

It was an honor to interview Tom Morales of

Tom is someone who truly cares about Nashville and its identity as a city for artists and music discovery.

Property taxes for Acme jumped from $129,000 to $589,000 this year.

While Acme’s story has already gained some coverage in the news, there are hundreds of small businesses that are being affected by property taxes and new property valuations.

What Tom discussed, and what I share, is a frustration at the disheartening lack of advocacy for the local businesses that helped shape this city’s identity.

There were so many parts of our conversation that didn’t make the video. Even though his business is on Lower Broadway, he cares equally for North Nashville, South Nashville, and all the communities that call this city home.

The was created to advocate for business owners impacted by property taxes. They’ve been sitting down with small business owners across Nashville to share their stories. Check out their page for more information.

I created this video independently, out of respect for Tom Morales and his contributions to this city.

I first heard Tom’s story on an episode of . Give it a listen if you want to hear some of the amazing stories Tom shared about his life and different moments in Nashville’s history.

Some Saturday plans for you: is performing at Saturday April 18th

As a Yemeni, when I saw there was a group called El Khat coming to town I was immediately intrigued. IYKYK lol

Diving into their music has only left me more intrigued, and I’m looking forward to seeing their show.

It’s a bit hard to define their sound. A mix of DIY instruments, Arabic-Yemeni percussion, and experimental expressions of Yemeni folk music.

I’ll put the link for tickets in my bio!

I am not endorsed by The Blue Room or El Khat, but decided to dive into some music coverage given the cultural connection and the uniqueness of their music.

See you Saturday!
