Woodland folk have fallen in love with these bottles over the last few years and if you haven’t tried them yet, you are in for a treat. This one is for our Loire lovers. Meet Antoine & Caroline Foucault! Like most w**emakers we love, the vineyards are farmed organically and a natural approach is carried into the cellar with a commitment to wild yeast fermentation. Extended aging without racking in a very cold underground cellar is utilized, and zero sulfur is added until bottling.

We have a couple reds in stock at our Eastside location. These w**es are pure and lifted and some of the best in their class.

-Domaine du Collier Saumur Rouge La Ripaille ‘22 - fine silky tannin, ethereal mineral qualities and delectable red fruit abounds

There is a particular kind of w**emaker who seems to work against the current of her own era, and Giovanna Morganti of Podere Le Boncie is very much that. Her unassuming estate is tucked into the hamlet of San Felice, in the southern reaches of Chianti Classico. Her story began with her dad, Enzo, a respected oenologist who believed in indigenous Tuscan varieties at a moment when the region was flirting (heavily) with Cabernet and Merlot. Giovanna inherited his conviction... and his training.

We currently have two cuvées available. These are Tuscan w**es of unusual transparency!

‘Le Trame’ is the estate’s flagship. It’s a pure expression of Sangiovese from the Castelnuovo sub-zone, aged without oak and labeled simply as a Toscana Rosso rather than Chianti Classico as a result. We love its clarity: bright red fruit, fine-grained tannin, and understated elegance. 

‘Chiesamonti’ the estate’s other ‘Toscana’ bottling, shares the same restraint. It can seem light and unassuming at first, but opens up in the glass, revealing a romantic, quiet complexity that is strangely generous.
