Repost from our goddess designer ! 🤩
Styling a downtown Nashville Airbnb, , became a unique opportunity to showcase the talents of local artisans I collaborate with and advocate for the importance of trade skills. We added QR codes on the walls of each room so guests can connect with the makers and discover more about their crafts.
The Airbnb owner, , wanted a space inspired by my loft but needed to accommodate four guests, so my custom-designed lounge sofa with a full-size mattress was the perfect solution, offering a cozy spot to read, play board games, or relax while enjoying the incredible downtown view. At night, the lounge sofa comfortably sleeps one or two guests, with bedding conveniently stored nearby.
Artisan drop cloth fabric is my go-to for creating slipcovers for seating, headboards, box spring skirts, and mattress covers. Made from 100% cotton, this durable and washable fabric is built to handle high-traffic use—if it’s tough enough for painters, it’s perfect for an Airbnb!
I found four used Elana dining chairs from World Market. However, the original fabric was thin, itchy, and not removable. Iisha stepped in, crafting deconstructed slipcovers with inverted seams and raw edges that are easy to remove and clean, perfectly fitting the relaxed vibe of the space. The dining chairs can easily be rolled into the living area for extra seating when needed. The reclaimed wood dining table with galvanized pipe legs adds an unexpected touch of texture to the room. To stay on budget, I used drop cloth fabric on the sofa lounge pillows and splurged on a single Libeco pillow and throw towel to add a pop of color and graphic print.
Texture is essential to me. My custom large-scale fishnet pendants, salvaged timber side tables, and cowhide rug bring warmth and balance to the loft-like space, making it feel inviting and cozy, especially in the evenings.
Xo,
Nancy
