Here's a bad time to find out your passport's a problem: after you've already booked the flights, told your boss you're taking the week off, and packed. 😬

Passport issues have a way of hiding until the worst possible moment, and every destination has its own rules, so what worked for your last trip might not work for the next one.

Save this one and actually check:
✔️ Expiration date
✔️ Damage (torn pages, water stains, anything that could get flagged)
✔️ Name changes since your last trip
✔️ Your kids' passports, if they're coming too
✔️ Blank pages, if your destination requires them
✔️ The specific entry requirements for where you're headed

That last one matters most. There's no one-size-fits-all rule here, which is exactly why it's easy to get wrong.
