Reflecting on how my art has taken me all over the world 🌎 💪🏾these last few years have been one heck of a ride! 😁 // New Travel tip below👇👇

TRAVEL TIP! Don't take it for granted!
Especially after it being so long we have not been able to travel during this pandemic, it's been good to really reflect on how many places I HAVE been fortunate enough to have been able to explore. I've currently been to 33 countries and multiple states in the USA, including Hawaii, with quite a few places I've gone multiple times to. I most likely never would have gone to many of those places if it weren't for the communities I've joined, that have inspired me to go visit them all over the world. I hope to be able to get back out there soon when the world is safe again! Where do yall wanna hit first? Are you already back to traveling?

Fun fact: I've never been able to picture myself driving across my own country. It used to be a dream I had as a child when I saw people doing cross country road trips on TV and movies. But I quickly learned that wasn't something I could do in America as a black man. Not safely.

As I've traveled through many countries with my dance, I have always been starkly aware of the reactions I would get and how I may be treated when I get there. Many places operate in ignorance because they may have only seen black people through movies, TV shows, and media. Which generally don't put us in a good light, or specify us as almost circus acts where we are only good at entertaining with music, dance, and sports. Some people either have looked at me with fear, or would approach me with the curiosity a child would have with animals at the zoo. Not as a human.
Of course not all my experiences have been like this, and I have found the countries I've visited to be very tolerable, wonderful and refreshing. Which is why I love traveling and learning about other cultures.
But it's unfortunate the USA is still one of the scariest places to travel when black. At least for me.

TRAVEL TIP‼️ Wear your masks 😷
Things are starting to open up a bit more, but don't get too excited and start running around like everything is back to normal. It's getting harder everyday for everyone to stay inside, so if and when you start traveling around places again, don't neglect to protect yourself more now than ever. I honestly think we'll have to travel in other countries with masks for a couple years, so getting used to bringing one everywhere may be something we gotta deal with. What do you guys think?

TRAVEL TIP! Make the Memory Special!
What's the point of going all the way out to a cool spot and taking a basic picture 📸🥴✌🏾️ then going back. Naw, do something worthy of your traveling all the way there. Doesn't have to be absolutely crazy or intensely athletic, but make it something that makes you look back and have fond memories of the place you visited. As long as you're respecting the area. Try and think up fun things to do before even hitting the spot. Maybe make a game of connecting the same type of pose or action you've done around the world, or something like that. Eh whatever comes to mind just have fun wit it yall! (Just don't get kicked out for it 😂🤷🏾‍♂️)

TRAVEL TIP‼️ Learn a new online job skill!

With all this free time we have at home, maybe it's time to try out that new thing you've been wanting to do forever. And no, I'm not talking about tiktok dances (or am I 🤔). Learn something that may help you to possibly work anywhere in the world, is truly fulfilling and fun, and will let you finally quit your 9-5 job. This is the perfect chance to really learn and test out that online business or research the skill you think you could travel with. Photography/videography, programming, blogging, editing, online tutorials, teaching, shopify estore, etc. Test out ways to make money online and gain financial freedom so you won't worry if you'll have enough money for wherever you travel to in the future.

You never know how things can change and flip in a second, as we are seeing these days. Why waste it on being angry or obsessed with something you don't need. Take this time of solace to really think about what you want out of life. Are you living it the way you really want? Or can you get just a bit more out of it?

TRAVEL TIP! Live it up!
You already know what you need to do this year. It's the same thing you should have been doing all last year. A new year isn't gonna change anything, forget all the resolutions. Just do what you know you need to do to make YOU happy. No one needs to give you permission for that. There's billions of people on this earth, we've been here for years, trust me, no one singularly cares about your life as much as you do. So stop worrying about what others think and live your life for yourself. And if you need to quit your job and see the world to live it up, then do just that. You'll always be fine when you're doing what you want. Here's to another year of living our lives without regret!

TRAVEL TIP‼️ Travel to warm places during off season!

Just because it's getting chilly in your area doesn't mean it's the same in other countries. Places closer to the equator are always warm, and some competely flip seasons like Australia! I'd recommend going to these places off travel season because tickets are cheap! September - November & January- April you'll find some of the best flight deals because no one usually travels then. Even if you work a regular job, why not take a cheap weekend vacation? Or use your vacation days during those times when it's cheapest to go!
