We are ready to roll out for Day 2! 🚗✨

Today’s mission: make it to Texas, survive approximately 7 more hours of road, and officially let the bestie plans and senior trip fun begin! 🤠💜

Yesterday was the long-haul stretch, today is the “we can sense the adventure from here” stretch. Snacks are packed, weirdos are accounted for, and the road-trip chaos gremlins are buckled in. Outtakes of said weirdos included! 🤣

Texas, here we come! Let the warmth, memories, museums, music, Meow Wolf magic, Six Flags squeals, and bestie joy begin! ♿️🌵💫

Got my band of weirdos, and we are rolling out! 🚗💜♿️

We’re taking two days to get from Indy to Dallas, because apparently “family adventure” now includes snacks, chaos, questionable playlists, mobility logistics, and at least one person asking, “How much longer?” before we even leave Indiana.

This trip is extra special because all of my offspring are now officially adults, and somehow that feels both wildly surreal and wonderfully right. A week of fun, bestie visits, memory-making, and whatever road trip nonsense finds us along the way!

Dallas, prepare thyself.

Texas Trip Countdown: 4 DAYS! 🤠☀️

This Saturday morning, we roll out for a week of Texas fun, bestie visits, and memory-making with my youngest kiddo’s Dallas crew!

The newly minted adults have quite the agenda planned for us: a concert, Six Flags, Meow Wolf, an aquarium, and approximately 213 museums we may or may not actually make it to. 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

We shall see what the week brings, because the real goal is simple: quality time with the besties, family adventure, sunshine, laughter, and soaking up this sweet season of life before everyone scatters into their next chapter. 📖

I’m looking forward to warmth, wonder, and a whole lot of “remember when we…” moments with my favorite humans. ☀️💜

Here’s hoping the “Spine of Doom” holds up good enough, & we all have plenty of spoons 🥄 IYKYK 🤞🏼

Welp… more for the disappointed but not surprised file… 😔

Nine states are once again attacking one of the most fundamental disability rights: the right to live in the community.

Texas and eight other states are asking a court to block protections that prevent unnecessary institutionalization of people with disabilities under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. These protections have been affirmed by the Supreme Court in Olmstead v. L.C. and have empowered disabled people to receive services in the most integrated setting appropriate rather than being segregated or forced into institutions.

If this lawsuit succeeds, it could weaken enforcement of disability civil rights and push more people into segregated settings against their will.

Disabled people fought too hard for community integration to lose it now.

Soft strength still counts

Some days, strength looks like pushing forward.
Other days, it looks like staying put and listening closely.

Living in a body that doesn’t always cooperate has taught me this:
Progress doesn’t have to be loud to be real.

Rest is not quitting.
Gentleness is not weakness.
And pacing yourself is a form of wisdom the pack understands well.

Today, I’m rolling slowly.
Still part of the journey.
Still moving with intention.
