There are some people who discover The Beatles later in life… and then there are people like Abbey Layne, who were practically born into the music.
Actually, “born into it” might be putting it lightly. According to her mother, Amy Allen, Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was blasting through the birth room speakers the day Abbey came into the world. From the very beginning, The Beatles were part of the soundtrack of her life.
“She never had a choice,” Amy laughs. “I even named her Abbey Layne because of the Fab Four.”
Today, Abbey is a student at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, pursuing a degree in social work — a path rooted in compassion, intelligence, and helping others navigate life’s hardest moments. But even while building a future outside the music industry, one thing has remained constant: her deep love for Beatles music.
Like her mother, Abbey has an ear for melody and a heart for storytelling through song. Yet unlike Amy, the spotlight has never come naturally to her. Stage fright has always stood in the way of pursuing music professionally. The nerves, the vulnerability, and the pressure of performing have kept her from chasing the stage full time.
But some music is simply too powerful to stay away from.
On June 6 at The Big Muddy Inn, Abbey will step into that spotlight beside her mom for a special evening celebrating the music that shaped both of their lives. The show, featuring Amy Allen and Abbey Layne singing the songs of The Beatles, promises to be more than just another concert — it’s a full-circle family story set to one of the greatest catalogs in music history.
For Amy, the night represents something emotional and deeply personal. A mother sharing songs she has loved her entire life with the daughter she raised on them. For Abbey, it’s a chance to face the fear that has followed her for years and simply enjoy singing the music that feels like home.
And honestly, what better place for that story to unfold than at The Big Muddy Inn — a place known for nights that feel less like performances and more like memories being made in real time?
Abbey has already performed two SOLD OUT shows at Big Muddy Inn, and this night is shaping up to be no different. So don’t Let It Be until the last minute… get your tickets before they’re gone.
The Beatles may have influenced generations around the world, but on June 6 in Natchez, their music becomes something even more intimate: a mother and daughter story decades in the making.
Doors open at 7:00 PM. Showtime begins at 7:30 PM at The Big Muddy Inn.
