Whether you’re planning a fishing trip, kayaking adventure, or relaxing day on the water, Natchitoches offers several public access points throughout Parish. 🛥Here’s a quick guide to the public boat launches and river access areas available along the lake.
Public Boat Launches:
🌊Washington Street Boat Launch
Located just north of the Historic District, this is the primary public launch within the City of Natchitoches. The site includes:
Public boat launch, kayak launch access, parking area, riverfront access, gazebos and green space!

🌊Shell Beach Ramp
Located near Natchez along the southern portion of Cane River Lake, Shell Beach provides easy public access for boating, fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. This launch is popular for recreational lake access and fishing excursions.
Located on LA-199 South near Natchez, LA
🌊Cane River Boat Ramp
Situated along LA-119 near Natchez, this public launch provides another convenient access point to Cane River Lake for boaters and anglers exploring the lower portion of the lake.

🌊Sibley Lake Boat Launch
Located off Shady Acres Road near Highway 6, the Sibley Lake Boat Launch provides public access for boating, fishing, kayaking, and other water activities on Sibley Lake. The launch is open 24 hours and is a popular local access point for outdoor recreation in Natchitoches.

Visitors can also enjoy public access along the Front Street Riverbank in downtown Natchitoches. While not a formal launch site, the riverbank area offers: scenic waterfront access, walking paths, viewing areas, access for river tours and events.
