We are excited to share that Flaming Sunrise condo is now being managed by Navarre Beach Properties. The decision to no longer self manage came after much consideration. We love each and every one of our guests, but it’s time for Susan to start slowing down.

2 bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms both with King Beds, the living room offers a queen size pull out couch. All windows have room darkening curtains.

Bathrooms, Kitchen and living room have all been renovated in the past 2 years.

Let’s all do our part to help the turtles.

Nesting season is HERE! Florida is home to the majority of the United States' sea turtle nests! Now through October, help us protect our nesting turtles and their hatchlings by doing the following:

⚠️ Keep a safe and respectful distance of turtles, nests, and hatchlings, of at least 50 feet

🏖️ Keep the beach flat! Fill in holes and knock down sand castles to help turtles find their way back to the water

🔦 Avoid using white light on the beach, and instead opt for a red light flashlight. You can pick one up for free at the Visit Destin-Fort Walton Beach Visitor's Center!

🚮 Pick up trash and avoid single-use plastics

Bird migration season is around the corner. Much like our human visitors, Gulf Islands National Seashore hosts wildlife that call the park their vacation home.

Red Knots are among the most spectacular long-distance fliers in the world, with the ability to fly nearly 5,000(!) miles without stopping. While different populations of knots spend the non-breeding months in different geographic regions, the individual below was making a quick pit stop at Johnson Beach. It most likely migrated from the wintering grounds in the Tierra Del Fuego region of South America to breed in the Arctic Circle of extreme northern Canada!

Sadly, Red Knots have experienced extensive population declines in recent decades and are listed as “Near Threatened” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, owing to factors such as coastal and wetland development and the over-harvest of Horseshoe Crabs, whose eggs are a favored and critical food source at coastal stopover sites where the Knots refuel during their journeys from pole to pole.
