So much history in this county! Excited to be a sponsor of this great event!
Timberman, Ebenezer H. Skinner, (1861 – 1939), worked alongside his father. As the residents and timber workers of C**n Hill passed away, it was noted the existing burial site needed to be maintained. In the spring of 1891, the C**n Hill Burial Association was formed, and a small acreage was set aside. The first burial at the C**n Hill Cemetery site was in 1830–recognized today as the oldest cemetery in Santa Rosa County.
Ebenezer and his wife, Margaret O. Skinner (1863 – 1941), deeded 20 acres to the C**n Hill Burial Association on May 30, 1891. To this day, the current C**n Hill Cemetery Trustees maintain and preserve this small piece of land as a local historic landmark. It is all that is left of the C**n Hill Community.
