🐿️ Selah Sanctuary Wildlife Spotlight: The White Squirrel 🤍

Look who stopped by Selah Sanctuary! This stunning little visitor isn’t a different species of squirrel—it’s actually a rare color variation of the common Eastern Gray Squirrel.

📸 The coolest part? Based on the dark eyes in this photo, this appears to be a leucistic squirrel, not a true albino. Leucism is a rare genetic trait that reduces pigmentation in the fur while allowing the eyes to remain their normal color. Most white squirrels people see are leucistic rather than albino.

✨ Fun Facts:
• White squirrels are considered rare and are a special wildlife sighting.
• True albino squirrels have pink or red eyes, while leucistic squirrels have dark eyes like our Selah visitor.
• Their bright white coats make them much easier for predators to spot, which is one reason they remain uncommon in the wild.
• Despite their unique appearance, they behave just like any other gray squirrel—climbing, gathering food, and racing through the trees.

There’s something magical about spotting wildlife that reminds you to slow down and notice the beauty around you. Moments like this are part of what makes Selah Sanctuary so special.

✨ Selah Sanctuary Progress Update ✨

Every trip out here brings a little more life to this place. 🏡🌊

The furniture is finding its home, the spaces are starting to come together, and little by little, the vision we’ve carried for so long is becoming reality. There are still plenty of boxes to unpack, projects to finish, and details to perfect, but seeing the progress makes every late night and long drive worth it.

What started as an idea is slowly becoming a place where families can gather, rest, reconnect, and create memories overlooking the beautiful waters of East Bay. Minutes from the gulf by boat or car.

Thank you to everyone following along on this journey. We can’t wait to welcome you to Selah Sanctuary soon.

There will not be a beach buzz this weekend. The Blue Angels did not have a show.
This up-coming week scheduled practices on Tuesday and Wednesday.

After way too much mixing, spraying, and pretending I was developing fragrances for a luxury resort 🤪… I think we finally found the vibe.

Clean. Coastal. Calm.
A little “high-end hotel lobby by the water at sunset.”

Now every time we walk in, it smells like:
