Meet Nathaniel!
Nathaniel is a determined, respectful 8-year-old who has faced some significant challenges early in life. He lives with Hirschsprung’s disease and also has nerve damage in his ears that has left him hard of hearing. He wears hearing aids every day, but none of that has slowed down his love for the outdoors.
Fishing is Nathaniel’s passion. He can talk baits, hooks, rods, reels, and tackle with knowledge well beyond his years. His favorite bass lure is the Whopper Plopper, and he loves showing off his collection of fishing gear. But one thing has always been especially high on his list: catching salmon.
Nathaniel recently traveled with his dad from South Dakota to Neah Bay, Washington, for an Outdoor Dreams fishing adventure and the chance to make that dream a reality.
For a kid who already loves fishing this much, getting to experience the waters off Neah Bay was something special. More importantly, it gave Nathaniel and his dad the opportunity to spend time together, experience a completely new adventure, and make memories they will carry home with them long after the fishing is over.
Nathaniel is an old soul with an incredible eagerness to learn, and we couldn’t be happier to help give this young fisherman an adventure built around something he truly loves.
