The 127th Annual Wisconsin Trapshooting Association (WTA) State Shoot will be running from Tuesday, July 7 through Sunday, July 12 at the Homegrounds in Rome, WI (1312 Akron Drive), and it promises to be bigger and better than ever!
• What's new at the Homegrounds? Watch this year's shooters "break in" the newly upgraded P.A. system and lighting on multiple traps thanks to generous donations.

• Last year, the State Shoot broke records with an attendance of roughly 12,000 (including 5600+ participants) people over the 6-day event.

• We encourage you to stop on out at the complex and experience the thrill of trapshooting for yourself by watching these competitors "shoot" to win big!

The ribbon-cutting for the Link the Lakes Trail and Tunnel project took place this past Friday. There were so many people, businesses and organizations to thank:

• The Legacy Foundation for their patience and belief in our vision as well as the 50% grant they awarded Visit Rome for the project. This gift was beyond generous! We literally couldn’t have accomplished the project without them.

• Nekoosa Port Edwards State Bank, both Robb and Mary Sigler. Robb served 6 years on the Visit Rome Board and Mary currently serves on our Board. Both were integral in the project! Their brick sponsorship was also extremely generous!

• Sand Valley for their very generous brick sponsorship and all the incredible things they do for this community.

• Solarus for their very generous brick sponsorship and all the work they did in moving their fiber – a great company to work with!

• The Town of Rome for for seeing the value in the project and allowing us to move forward at every step. A shout out to Cody Knoblock, the Director of Public Works, for all the support during planning and construction and continued support through maintenance of the tunnel, trail and bridge.

• DRAFT, our local hiking and biking club, for helping us plan every step of the way. They are already offering ideas for new segments of trail that would benefit the Rome Community.

• DCM Landscaping for their generous brick sponsorship and the beautiful finishing touches around the tunnel. A first-class local company that was an absolute pleasure to work with.

• Lake Arrowhead Association for their generous brick sponsorship and constant support from Lukki Smolarek, our Board President as well as Evan Girdauskas and Joel Barth, Board Members.

As we OFFICIALLY start summer on Saturday, there's no doubt that the season is in full swing if you look at all the activities we have in store. It's once again time to set the stage for another great weekend in Rome, WI!

Take it from them directly; on Saturday, June 20th, "the Rome Sno-Bandits are throwin' one heck of a shindig, and you're invited!"
(If you've attended the Sno-Bandit's annual "Classic Car Show," this is THAT event, just bigger!)
• Calling all cars, trucks, bikes, sleds, ATV/UTVs, and anything with a motor—if it's got wheels and flair, we want to see it there! Trophies will be awarded for the "People's Choice" best vehicle as well as dash plaques for the first 100 entries into the show. We've seen quite a variety of vehicles over the years, so the sky's the limit!

• Enjoy food/beverages available for purchase from 11 AM-6 PM

• Family-friendly activities such as a bounce house, dunk tank, co****le tournament, vendor booths, 50/50 raffle, live music, and more!
