Media companies are sitting on decades of valuable content. The challenge? Much of it was created in a very different era of distribution. 💾

Historical news footage, classic sports, back-catalog programming, and early-HD masters may still have tremendous audience and commercial value, but bringing that content up to the standards of today’s streaming, FAST, and UHD platforms can be costly and time-consuming.

Telestream is working with NVIDIA to change that. 🤝

Coming to Vantage, new AI-powered Super Resolution capabilities powered by the NVIDIA Video Effects SDK will enable media organizations to automatically upscale legacy SD and HD content into modern HD, 4K, and UHD-ready assets.

That means organizations can:

☑️ Modernize large archive libraries with minimal operator intervention
☑️ Give classic sports, news, and programming new life across modern platforms
☑️ Reduce manual handoffs and standalone processing steps
☑️ Turn dormant and underused content into new audience and revenue opportunities

It’s another example of Telestream’s approach to Practical AI: bringing advanced AI capabilities directly into trusted media workflows where they can deliver real operational value.

Vantage Super Resolution will be previewed for the first time at . Visit Telestream in Hall 7, stand 7.B21 to learn more.

As live production becomes increasingly software-defined, a new question emerges: how do applications from different vendors efficiently access and exchange the same live media?

That’s the problem the Media eXchange Layer (MXL) is designed to help solve.

In our latest blog, Matthew Driscoll breaks down MXL, its role in the industry’s vision for a Dynamic Media Facility (DMF), and why it matters for the future of live production.

MXL creates a common way for software applications to access media within a shared compute environment. Rather than repeatedly moving high-bandwidth media between applications, multiple functions can work from the same shared media buffer.

The potential benefits:

✅ More efficient use of compute and network resources
✅ Greater flexibility to dynamically deploy production functions
✅ A common interface for applications from multiple vendors
✅ More freedom for broadcasters to assemble the capabilities that fit each production

Telestream is taking its first step into this emerging ecosystem by bringing MXL support to Pulse, enabling its software-defined monitoring and analysis capabilities to operate on media within an MXL shared-memory environment.

MXL is only one piece of the broader Dynamic Media Facility vision, but it provides an important building block for more open, interoperable and flexible live production.

Build. Connect. Orchestrate. Telestream UP is entering its next phase. ☁️

Introduced earlier this year, UP is evolving into a comprehensive cloud-native environment for orchestrating Telestream services, third-party technologies, and AI-driven workflows across modern media operations.

A collection of interconnected building blocks, UP brings together capabilities spanning live and file-based ingest, processing, monitoring, collaborative review, and workflow automation, with new components expanding into quality control, transcoding, media intelligence, and AI-powered content understanding.

The idea is simple: give media organizations a proven foundation so they can build and evolve workflows faster, without having to recreate the underlying media infrastructure themselves.

With UP, organizations can:

🔷 Use individual Telestream capabilities wherever they need them
🔷 Connect those capabilities into broader end-to-end workflows
🔷 Integrate third-party technologies and their own applications
🔷 Bring AI and media intelligence directly into operational workflows
🔷 Access the same underlying platform through interfaces, APIs, automation, and emerging AI agents

And as UP evolves, its individual capabilities become even more powerful when connected. https://UP.Capture, UP.Lens, UP.Review, UP.Workflow, and UP.Ingest can operate independently or come together as part of a shared media environment spanning ingest through processing, monitoring, review, and beyond.

See the next evolution of Telestream UP at IBC 2026, including expanded AI capabilities, tighter connections across the platform, and support for Model Context Protocol (MCP).

Moving live production to the cloud offers incredible flexibility, but it introduces a major operational challenge: cloud blindness. ☁️

When contribution feeds cross hybrid environments and virtual networks, infrastructure uptime alone doesn't guarantee a healthy video signal. In his latest piece for Broadcast Bridge, Telestream's Kenneth Haren breaks down how cloud-native monitoring and real-time "eyes-on-glass" multiviewers are restoring operational confidence for live sports, news, and entertainment.

While media supply chains have automated ingest, transcoding, and delivery, one critical gap remains: knowing what’s actually inside your video files before processing begins.

In a new article for Streaming Media, Bruno Munger, Director of Product Management at Telestream, breaks down why traditional technical metadata isn't enough—and how contextual content analysis is closing the gap.

Key takeaways:

🔹 Technical metadata has limits: Knowing a file is 1080p ProRes doesn't tell you where credits start, where commercial breaks sit, or if audio channels are misaligned.
🔹 Media Analysis vs. Traditional QC: While QC verifies the end product, contextual analysis acts at the beginning of the supply chain—functioning as an intelligent work order for downstream automation.
🔹 Scalability for Archives & FAST: Eliminates manual NLE inspections for acquired content libraries, making multi-platform distribution significantly faster and less error-prone.
