Join the festivities from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Community Boating Center (1641 Padanaram Ave, NBMA) for an incredible day packed with local flavor, maritime culture, and waterfront fun.

The Ultimate Pasteis de Nata Eating Competition: The search is on for the South Coast's ultimate Nata champion! Whether you are ready to step up to the table and compete or just want to cheer on the contenders from the sidelines, this is the high stakes main event you cannot miss.

The South Coast Snackdown: We will officially be crowning the winner for the absolute "Best Nata on the South Coast." Plus, a fantastic lineup of local food trucks will be parked on site to keep everyone fed.

Free Waterfront Adventures: Between treats, you can hit the water! Enjoy free access to kayaks and paddle boats, take a relaxing 30 minute cruise on a Sonar Sailboat, or test your skills rowing an authentic Azorean Whaleboat.

This entire community event is completely free to attend, making it the perfect Saturday outing for the whole family. Bring your appetite, bring your friends, and get ready to celebrate our historic waterfront!

When New Bedford Food Tours first started the north end tour three years ago, Island Park was just in the beginning stages of it’s construction.

It's amazing to have grown right alongside this amazing cultural landmark. We couldn’t be happier for the northend of New Bedford.

We continue to wish the Cape Verdean Association, this community and its people prosperity and we salute your cultural achievement.

Festa by the Sea is 11 days away!!!

We are moving the event to Saturday, June 13, 2026, to get past the gloomy forecast and make sure we have nothing but sunshine and perfect coastal vibes for our day on the water. Everything planned for the original lineup is staying exactly the same, just with much better weather.

The event will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Community Boating Center , located at 1641 Padanaram Ave in New Bedford.

For food lovers, you can watch or even enter the Pasteis de Nata Eating Competition, find out who wins the title of "Best Nata on the South Coast" in the South Coast Snackdown, and grab a bite from a great selection of local food trucks.

If you are looking for adventure, you can head out on the water in kayaks and paddle boats, enjoy a relaxing 30 minute cruise on a Sonar Sailboat, or try your hand at rowing an authentic Azorean Whaleboat. There will also be plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy.
