Good morning. It is Saturday, April 25, 2026 and this is the San Marcos River update. The San Marcos River was extremely blessed this past week. We got just the right amount of rain in all the areas that really needed it. It was a steady, soaking rain—not too much, too fast—which brought the river levels up and now they’re flowing perfect for tubing and kayaking.
The river had started to get a little low, but now it’s running great again. Visibility is slightly green from the recent rain, but that should clear up over the next few days.
It’s starting to feel like summer out here. The trees have turned a deep green, everything looks alive, and it’s absolutely beautiful. And after a stretch of rainy weekend weather, it’s nice to finally have a sunny weekend to get outside and enjoy the river.
If you’re thinking about getting out on the San Marcos River this weekend, Son’s River Ranch has some great deals:• $99 glamping tonight (there’s a handful of them left so book now to claim yours.• $49 cabanas today and tomorrow
The $49 cabana price includes entry for eight people. That’s a full day on the river relaxing in a private cabana for only $6 per person, which is hard to beat.
If you’ve never been out to Son’s River Ranch, this weekend would be a great time to check it out. There are likely wildflowers blooming, and we’re located in a really scenic spot on the edge of the Hill Country between Austin and San Antonio.
