It was hot. Enjoy the video!!! It got up to 35° C and I was not in the mood for site visits in the heat. but so happy I did…. The beautiful .isabella in downtown Lacco Ammeno, one of the 6 principal towns of Ischia. The location is so stellar, you can walk right into town for your apres dinner Gelato and shopping.

Recently renovated, this hotel shines for its family owned feel, local flavor, private cove to swim in the Tyrrhenian and huge spa. So family friendly with endless connecting room options, too!

Last night in Ischia…. It was not enough time. Personally I could spend a month here and not tire of it. Absolutely charmed by the island, the nature, and the people. if you are looking for a family friendly summer destination where you will not be hassled with throngs of Americans it’s not too late to plan you a summer trip here!!!

The Amalfi Coast is famous for its stunning views, but its lemons deserve their own spotlight.

5 fun facts about Amalfi lemons:

1. They grow much larger than typical lemons. Some are nearly the size of a grapefruit.
2. They are sweeter and less acidic, which makes them perfect for fresh lemonade and desserts.
3. These lemons have protected IGP status, meaning authentic Amalfi lemons only come from specific areas along the coast.
4. Farmers grow them on steep cliffside terraces overlooking the Mediterranean. Harvesting them is no easy task.
5. Amalfi lemons helped sailors prevent scurvy centuries ago thanks to their high vitamin C content.

And yes, they’re the secret behind the region’s famous limoncello.

Have you ever tasted a fresh Amalfi lemon straight from the tree? I have yet to do this bc I always feel strange taking someone’s lemon off their tree 🤔

Ok. Everyone calm down about the EES. It’s just a new type of passport control. You get your finger prints , passport and face scanned to register and that registration is good for 90 days. Once that’s done, you head into passport control like you always have in the past, except you won’t be interacting with a human and you won’t get a stamp. You’ll scan your passport again and scan your face and then you can leave the airport. Voila. No big deal!

I have tried to learn Italian. I understand a lot when im spoken to but speaking it? Terrible for me. So I will keep ordering my food in Italian and have little idea what being said afterwards! What’s an old woman’s to do 🤣

Revealing the 3rd stop on my route rip: SARDINIA! I’m hoping the water is as beautiful in person as it is in these photos! I will be visiting Cala Di Volpe, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Costa Smeralda Romazzino and on this trip !
Sardinia is so much more than a beach destination, with many cultural experiences as well! A true gem!
