Lopesan Caoba Lagoon & Splash Cove in Punta Cana, I would not hesitate to send families here!
The pools are the star. The complex is huge, with multiple pools and swim-up bars. My favorite is the cenote pool, built to look like a real cenote, and it honestly feels like you’re in the rainforest.
For the kids, there’s a great water park with a wave pool, plus a smaller splash pad for the little ones.
WHO GETS WHAT? Caoba and Splash share all amenities. They share a lobby, so it made sense to share everything. Splash rooms are closer to the water park, Caoba rooms are closer to the cenote pool, and everything is easy to get to either way.
THE BEACH: The resort is on Bavaro Beach, which is gorgeous. Like most Caribbean destinations, it can have sargassum issues in the summer, so it’s worth keeping in mind when you pick your travel dates. The resort sits back off the beach, so you’ll take a golf cart. They run continually, so you won’t wait long. The new Beach Club opens this month with bar service and small bites. If you’d rather be at a pool, there’s also a HUGE infinity pool that comes with the Beach Club.
FOOD: 8 restaurants, including one buffet. My favorite was the Italian restaurant, built like an underground cave. Such a cool experience.
THE BOULEVARD is the entertainment complex shared by all Lopesan resorts. Bowling, an arcade, an escape room and shopping (each is an extra charge), plus nightly entertainment, more included restaurants, bars and snack spots, and another large water park.
There is something for everyone in the family here.
