Need to renew your ? Don't forget that an adult passport is valid for 10 years while passports for minors are valid for 5 years. Q: I sent my passport application weeks ago but when I check my status it says: “Not Available.” What’s going on?

A: It may take up to 6 weeks from the day you submit it until it is “In Process.” During these 6 weeks, your application is delivered to a mail facility for intake.
