Since 1929, Historic Garden Week proceeds have funded the restoration and preservation of more than 50 of Virginia’s historic public gardens and landscapes, as well as a research fellowship program that documents significant gardens in our state. Wildflower walks, natural children’s play areas, and pollinator habitats are just a few of the 54 projects made possible through 54 grants we made to Virginia State New Kent Parks and Recreation.

Advance Tickets are $40. Tickets are available at both C&F locations in New Kent and at www.gcvirginia.org.

We are thrilled to be part of the Ashland-New Kent Garden Club Weekend. The Ashland-New Kent Garden Club will be at the New Kent Ordinary on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The New Kent Ordinary is the headquarters for the event. You can get tickets in advance for 40pp at VAGardenWeek.org, 50pp the day of the tours. Beautiful estates include Cumberland Estates, Hampstead and Slatersville. Box lunches are available if you pay in advance at 16pp before April 18, Stpetersnewkent.org or 804-370-1089. The Historic Garden Week 2025 Guidebook has shipped and is available online!

That is great news for anyone interested in attending Historic Garden Week in Virginia! Tickets are on sale this Friday, February 14 at 10:00 AM.

Historic Garden Week is an annual event organized by the Garden Club of Virginia which is 48 member clubs strong! It offers a unique opportunity to tour private homes and gardens across the state, showcasing beautiful landscapes and architecture.

The Guidebook is an essential resource for planning your visit. It includes:
- Detailed descriptions of the properties: You’ll learn about the history of each home and garden, as well as the unique features you can expect to see.
- Tour dates and times: This helps you plan your itinerary and make the most of your time.
- Maps and directions: Getting to the different locations is made easier with clear maps and every tour has a local brochure on their tour page at https://gcvirginia.org/historic-garden-week/tour-schedule/

We are very excited to announce the following event!!! A living history encampment, drill and speeches by Patrick Henry. There will be food venders and a mobile history exhibit located at the courthouse. This event is free and open to the public. The Ordinary has free parking. I hope to see you in May.
