Mercato Centrale is where you wander, sample, shop, people-watch and discover something you didn’t even know you needed.

Fresh pasta. Tuscan cheeses. Truffles. Local flavors. A little shopping in between.

This is my kind of sightseeing.

Everybody talks about Senso-ji Temple, but don't get so focused on the temple that you miss what's surrounding it.

The gardens. The koi pond. The waterfall. The smaller buildings and little pockets of beauty tucked throughout the grounds.

This is why I don't like rushing through a destination just to say I saw it.

Take the long way back to the hotel.
Sit at the café a little longer.
Order the wine.
Have the dessert.
Stop checking the time.

Maybe that’s the real Italian luxury.
