We’re in the news!

French Quartour Kids was featured in an international travel publication by UK travel writer and family travel expert Nichola West of Globalmouse Travels!

Nichola and her family joined me for a tour here in New Orleans, and honestly... we had an absolute blast exploring the French Quarter together. 💜👻🏴‍☠️

Her newest article highlights New Orleans as a must-visit destination for families traveling through the Deep South, and we’re so excited to be included as part of the adventure.

Nichola has written for publications including:
✨ The Guardian
✨ The Telegraph
✨ Lonely Planet Magazine
✨ Wanderlust

It’s always special seeing families experience the magic, history, music, mystery, and joy of New Orleans through a child’s eyes. ⚜️

Hey y'all! This is Chelsea!

I’ll be doing a proper video introduction soon, but I wanted to start the conversation here on Facebook first and say hello.

As French Quartour Kids begins this new chapter, I’d love to hear from all of you:

What’s your favorite memory of the French Quarter as a child?

Was it:
🎺 hearing the street musicians?
🍩 getting powdered sugar absolutely everywhere at Café du Monde?
🏴‍☠️ pirate stories in Pirate’s Alley?
👻 spooky ghost tales?
🐴 seeing the mule carriages?
✨ finding hidden courtyards and magical little corners?

Whether you grew up here in New Orleans or visited as a kid, tell us your favorite memory below. I can’t wait to read them!

Last day in New Orleans- and I’ve got the bright red nose and leaking eyes to prove it!! I’m not crying- you are!

I am going to miss these two sweet, wonderful friends 🥰 941 Decatur Street is your one stop vacation stop!! Jarvis & Helise will get you all lined up for some fun & they’re SO NICE!!! If I’m ever feeling stressed before a new tour or big group, these two smiling faces immediately calm my nerves. I’ll miss you two & all of &

And my girls & Chelsea!! You two have been amazing to work with!! We should have made a weekly tradition!! Thanks for all your hard work and inspiring camaraderie!!
Much, much love to my New Orleans friends!! I am curious to see how New England responds to this modern day Mary Poppins!!

Rest assured, is still going & growing! Chelsea is in charge now!! 😅and she actually has an MBA!!. I feel like French Quartour Kids is growing up. I’m excited for its future and forever grateful for the kindness of the New Orleans small business, service industry community and all the incredibly silly & curious kids I’ve met over the last 13 years!! And of course their curious, adventurous parents!! 🥰Much, much love.
(🤫 We’ll have ghost tours for kids in Martha’s Vineyard soooooon… and is opening back up too!! Hoping for a national chain of kids tours!! History Hunters of America!!) Stay tuned!!

Welp New Orleans.. the hour is upon us. It has been an amazing 30 years living in this city! I tried to leave once before and only lasted 3 years.. we'll see how this goes.

Here's a picture of one of our first customers, clutching her American Girl doll as we finished the tour at the Hermann-Grima + Gallier Historic Houses back in 2012. My last Creole Kids Tour was Wednesday- great group with another sweet little girl holding her American Girl doll as well (eventually, dad had the doll's head politely perched out of the bag he was carrying, he was the doll's ride).

It's been a great 14 years!! French QuarTour Kids is not closing down. We're actually expanding. Chelsea, our fabulous guide of many years, will be at the helm. She's developed the After Dark ghost tour for Teens!! And Danielle will be leading our Bizarre but True, Bayou Tour that I've been teasing about for years. (Starts Saturday!)

I am heading full circle- back into a public school classroom in Massachusetts, from whence I came! I miss having my own batch of pumpkins to see each day! But, rest assured, this isn't the end of me and kids tours!! Bar Harbor Kids will finally come back to life, now that I'm driving distance. And I've been dreaming up a ghost tour for kids on Martha's Vineyard. And maybe something in CT or NY or wherever my next stop on this train takes me!

Much, much love to all the other small businesses that have supported and inspired me over the years! Thank you to the amazing families and schools who have joined us on tours and field trips over the years. Y'all have given me so much hope for the future!!

and to the city of New Orleans, who first captured my heart and imagination. 💜💚💛It truly is a magical city, magic which I will carry inside me, each step into the future. I could not have started this any place else!

Thank you to the gentleman who passed me walking in my new hoop skirt with my freshly painted cart years ago who asked me what I was selling. I proudly replied, "History! for kids!" He shook his head and muttered, "Yes indeed. Everybody got a hustle." 🤣🥰

True confession: I must have been sleeping or drawing (or writing notes!) during Science Class in school bc I had NO idea how dinosaurs died, how their descendent is still alive, how we know the continents were connected, what the energy source of ALL life is... LOTS of goodies to share!

Meet Danielle!! Danielle is a veteran Science Teacher who will be taking the lead on these! She's got deep Louisiana roots and tons of knowledge about the land and living off the land and and and! Come explore- Take a Tour!

On this day, April 6, 1764, the first Acadians arrived in Louisiana. Writing about the legacy of the Acadians and modern Cajuns, 64 Parishes Encyclopedia contributor, Shane K. Bernard, explains, “Cajuns are the descendants of Acadian exiles from what are now the maritime provinces of Canada—Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island—who migrated to southern Louisiana. Today they reside primarily in a twenty-two-parish region of southern Louisiana known as Acadiana. Significant numbers of Cajuns also reside in border parishes, such as Allen and Jefferson, as well as in southeastern Texas, particularly around Beaumont, Port Arthur, and Orange. Although best known outside Louisiana for their spicy food and music, Cajuns have made many important contributions to Louisiana’s history and culture.”

You asked for it! Now you're gonna get it!
Free Tour TOMORROW night!

We are launching our newest New Orleans tour- for TEENS!! While we still offer history tours for teens, this one peels back the curtain to look at some of the more mysterious moments in our history. As usual, it's hands on- though we will not be using the same props and tools as the little kids (🙄insert teenage eye roll).

We have sourced some excellent paranormal tools with a guide who has experience not just working with spirited teens but also a family legacy connected to divination and communication.

As with all of our new tours, it'll be heavily vetted by YOU!!! We'd love for you to come check it out, bring your teens, share your feedback and ideas. Tomorrow night. It's FREE. 7:30 pm.

Text me to reserve your spot- and learn the meeting location! 504-975-5355 (There might be🍕 if enough teens attend- and they are hungry!)
