You’ll definitely see members of the two chicks team out and about at the Defend Decatur Block party. We’ll be showing support and spending a little cash for the small businesses in this section of the Quarter.
See you on the streets!
The "forever fences" in the Quarter have strained many businesses to the breaking point. But you can help:
DEFEND DECATUR: ROCK THE BLOCK PARTY: SUNDAY, MAY 24, from 1pm - 10pm.
This is a community-driven initiative to support the small, locally owned businesses along Lower Decatur Street impacted by the ongoing Sewerage & Water Board (SWB) construction barriers— widely known as the “forever fence.”
~ This all-day event invites residents and visitors to show their support in the most meaningful way possible: by patronizing the businesses that make Lower Decatur a vital part of New Orleans culture.
~ Participants are encouraged to visit restaurants, bars, music venues, and shops throughout the 900–1200 blocks of Decatur Street, helping drive foot traffic and revenue directly to struggling establishments.
~ Free and open to the public. Simply come down to Lower Decatur and support local businesses by eating, drinking, and shopping.
~Live music performances throughout the day, including sets by Supagroup, Community, and additional artists to be announced, with key programming at Santos Bar.
