Hey there,

We're shaking off the summer and reviewing the schedule for the next few months.

Chances are if you're following this page you already know about the Krewe of Boo. If you don't know, it's a Halloween themed parade that rolls through the French Quarter - this year on Oct. 25th at 6:30PM. It's EXTREMELY popular, with many parade goers dressing in costume.

For us, this means YIELD the night. We'll pause our public walking tours to yield to the dominant energy and the critical mass of humanity traversing the historic streets of the French Quarter. We can't compete with the ambient noise and the routes that we usually walk, are truly overwhelmed.

The Saints also play the Bucs in the Dome the next day, so we know the city will be writhing with festive loving folks. We hope to see you on the streets of the Quarter by day as well as in the Garden District and the Carrollton neighborhoods.

Krewe of BOO! is New Orleans' Official Halloween Parade and has grown to be a spooktacular weekend of Halloween-themed events including the New Orleans Zombie Run, The Captain's Party, The Royal Luncheon, The Monster Mash, and more!

1977 let that sink in.

The cabins at Laura Plantation were inhabited by descendants of enslaved people until 1977.

We have a responsibility to tell this truth not only because it is not ancient history, but because the scars of slavery are embedded in every aspect of the Louisiana story.

Hey friends,

It's understood that at this time of year walking outside requires heat tolerance.

We suspended our afternoon tours back in mid June and have offered morning walks 6 days a week through July. For August, we provide discounted private tours, we're also adding daily walks when we receive requests and can have a guide present our classic walk at its usual time.

There's the Coolinary celebration and Museum Month to keep you in the air conditioning and suitably distracted all month long.

Urgent ‼️

🚨 Protect Lake Maurepas – Say NO to Industrial Carbon Storage under our Lake! 🚨

Lake Maurepas is already suffering. Recent studies show the lake is struggling with:
⚠️ Excess nutrients and algae blooms
⚠️ Pollution from surrounding rivers
⚠️ Declining water quality and aquatic life

Now, Air Products wants to turn this fragile ecosystem into a long-term industrial CO₂ dump site.

They plan to:
❌ Install 19 industrial platforms throughout the lake
❌ Stir up toxic heavy metals like mercury, arsenic, and lead from lake sediment
❌ Harm fish, crabs, and even West Indian manatees
❌ Create navigational hazards and scar the lake for generations
❌ Risk CO₂ blowouts or pipeline ruptures
❌ Destroy the scenic beauty and devastate local property values and businesses

Lake Maurepas is not expendable. It’s a cherished public waterway, home to generations of families, fishermen, and wildlife. We cannot let it become a private industrial experiment.

Even Air Products has paused investment and is trying to sell the project—but they’re still rushing to secure permits before anyone can stop it.
