2026 MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
The Tour Guide Association of Greater New Orleans' membership drive for 2026 is currently underway.
We’re excited to leap into the new year! We have a wealth of ideas to guide our plans, with many exciting things on the horizon! Our meetings and gatherings can take us anywhere: the Storyville Museum, the Mardi Gras Museum, Preservation Hall, New Orleans Museum of Art, and Tujaque's are a few we visited in 2025. For 2026, we will kick off the year with a screening of the film Ancestral Artistry. Speakers for future membership meetings will be Ryan Gray, UNO anthropology professor, Joseph Dunn, Honorary Consul of Canada, and we hope to have a networking event with various DMC's and tour companies.
Some of our Membership Benefits:
Monthly meetings with guest speakers
Annual field trip
Annual seminar
Annual Christmas dinner
Membership directory (a listing of guides with the types of tours they do)
Low-cost liability insurance
Professional networking
Community volunteer opportunities
Fun and camaraderie

We have three levels of membership: (1) Full member - for licensed tour guides, (2) Associate Members - for non-licensed individuals, (3) Corporate - for tour companies, DMC's, etc.
The yearly fee is $60 for a Full membership is $60 and $85 for the optional insurance, so if you are getting both, it would be $145, which is a reduction in price from last year! The price for an Associate membership is $40 and a Corporate membership is $100.
PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU WISH TO PURCHASE THE NFTGA INSURANCE, PAYMENTS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN THURSDAY, JANUARY 29.
Information about the NFTGA tour guide insurance can be found on our website: https://www.tourguidesnola.org/2026-nftga-insurance-faq
Why Insurance Matters:
Even careful guides can face unexpected accidents - a guest tripping, a broken item, or a venue claim. Often guiding activities are excluded from other non-commercial insurance policies one might have, leaving personal assets at risk in the unlikely event of a guide being named in a lawsuit. Having this protection provides peace of mind and professional credibility as a guide works independently or under contract.
Thank you and we hope to see you soon!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at [email protected]. One of our board members will reach out to you.
