Just my suggestion- I’ve been here all my life and through every hurricane.
This is not a complete list

Have all you prescriptions that will get you through at least a week after the hurricane

Wash and dry all your clothes BEFORE the hurricane. If power goes out - you will need clean outfits — ac will be out and it will be hot.

Batteries, flashlights, cordless phone/tablet chargers

Charge everything until the power goes out

Get everything out of the yard - the wind will move it.

I keep all of my dishes clean. Have paper plates, cups, plastic silverware if you can

Have ice packs or a bag of ice in your freezer- try to leave your freezer shut if the power goes out. Have coolers with ice for drinks and anything that has to stay cold from the fridge

Have non electric can opener

Your windows should be covered- find out what is best for you/your home

I have sensor lights inside the house for nighttime if the power is out

Generator. Will be hard to find.

Yesterday afternoon officers and staff conducted Pedestrian Crosswalk Operations on S. Atlantic Ave. and Saxon Dr. and found numerous violators. In a period of two hours, we wrote 14 citations for failure to stop for a pedestrian in the crosswalk, two citations for failure to carry a driver license, two for speeding, one for texting while driving, and one criminal citation for driving with a suspended license.

Please pay attention to pedestrians in crosswalks!
