A tourist visiting New York City from California was stabbed in the back and arm in an unprovoked attack while changing her baby’s diaper inside Macy's. Police say the suspect is 43-year-old Carrie Ahern, a homeless woman with a history of mental health problems.

Authorities state Ahern was released from a psychiatric hospital earlier that same day, purchased a knife inside Macy’s, and then went to the restroom where the attack occurred. Police say the suspect told investigators she was hearing voices telling her to kill.

The suspect was arrested at the scene. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital and has since been released.

This 75-foot Norway Spruce comes from East Greenbush and is a proud New Yorker — about 75 years in the making. After decades towering quietly in a family backyard, it traded peace for chaos and now throws 50,000 LED lights and a 900-lb Swarovski star over Manhattan. The whole tree weighs 11 tons and glows from December 3, 2025 → mid-January 2026.

Melania Trump unveiled the 2025 White House holiday decorations under the theme “Home Is Where the Heart Is.” This year’s decor also celebrates America’s upcoming 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and the founding of the United States of America.

The official White House Christmas Tree stands in the Blue Room, honoring Gold Star Families—those who lost loved ones during active-duty military service. The tree also salutes the courage and sacrifice of the U.S. Armed Forces.

This is Christmas in Washington, D.C., where history meets holiday tradition.
