𝙅𝙀𝘼𝙉𝙉𝙀 𝘿𝙐 𝘽𝘼𝙍𝙍𝙔 𝙗𝙮 𝙈𝘼𝙄̈𝙒𝙀𝙉𝙉 – 𝙊𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙢
The world premiere of Jeanne du Barry, directed by Maïwenn and starring Johnny Depp, premieres at the 76th Cannes Film Festival on May 16 at the Grand Théâtre Lumière. It will be broadcast live on France Télévisions and Brut during the opening ceremony and released in French theaters on the same day.
𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙣𝙖 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙨 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙤𝙛 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙮
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will premiere at Cannes 2023 on May 18. Directed by James Mangold, the film marks Harrison Ford's return as the iconic Indiana Jones. He will be joined by a star-studded cast including Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Antonio Banderas, John Rhys-Davies, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Ethann Isidore, and Mads Mikkelsen. The festival will also honor Ford's remarkable career.The fifth film of the saga will be released on June 28 in France and on June 30 in the United States.
𝙆𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙡𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙤𝙤𝙣
On May 20, 2023, Martin Scorsese will premiere his new film, Killers of the Flower Moon, at Cannes. Based on David Grann's book, it explores the serial murders of the Osage Nation in 1920s Oklahoma, known as the "Reign of Terror." Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, and Lily Gladstone join Scorsese for the premiere at Palais des Festivals.
𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙒𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚
Pedro Almodóvar's Strange Way of Life will have its world premiere in the Official Selection at Cannes. Directed by Almodóvar, the short film stars Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal. It is a Western shot in Southern Spain and marks the director's second English-language project after The Human Voice in 2020. The screening will be followed by a conversation with Almodóvar and the filmmaking team.
