Hiatus. Never has anyone imagined what 2020 would bring us. All the hopes, dreams, plans, the many dear clients booked and ready to travel, all came to a grinding halt in such a seismic way. As I, many have found themselves stripped down from anything irrelevant, with nothing but the important people in their lives, near or far... and a lot of free time where a social life once existed. We’ve adapted and readapted to this new normal, or what some like to call “temporary abnormal” and perspective surfaced. I as many of you have taken the time for some much needed soul searching to reflect on the way we were living our lives and conducting business. This has been a time to slow down, but quickly pivot, to step back to the basics, the things that are truly important and yet so fragile: our families, friends, and the environment. Working towards achieving a deeper purpose in what I do, I have been focusing on reevaluating past patterns, strengthening relationships with partners, making new connections and refining my offering to bring a deeper sense of meaning to travel. As we slowly navigate through this, my heart goes out to all those who have lost someone to the pandemic. May we find our path to the end of these trying times and strengthen our faith that humanity will come out more humane on the other side.
