✅ The Cuban Society of Ophthalmology warned today about the risks of observing, without means of protection, the annular eclipse of the Sun that will occur this Saturday, October 14.
✅ Those who choose to observe the natural phenomenon should wear glasses with appropriate filters to protect vision.
📢📢📢 Don't underestimate care!
Unprotected eclipse can cause solar retinopathy, irreversible, painless damage that can occur in a matter of seconds, but symptoms do not always appear quickly, so they can appear up to a few weeks after exposure.

For Havana, the beginning of the eclipse will be at 11:55 a.m., the maximum will occur at 1:34 p.m. and the end will occur at 3:15 p.m.; meanwhile, the obscuration will be 68.1 percent.
In Santiago de Cuba the beginning of the astronomical event will be at 12:15 p.m., the maximum will occur at 1:55 p.m. and the end will occur at 3:34 p.m., the obscuration will be 58.5 percent.
🌝🌘🌓 This eclipse will be the largest magnitude observed in Cuba since the one that occurred on May 7, 1970.
