We’re Growing - Now Hiring a Local Manager 🇮🇹

Life Beyond the Room is looking for a passionate, highly organized Local Manager to support our travelers throughout Italy.

This is a fully remote role where you will serve as the main point of contact for clients during their journeys, ensuring seamless communication, quick problem-solving, and exceptional travel experiences.

What You’ll Do:
• Support travelers throughout their stay in Italy
• Coordinate with hotels, guides, drivers, restaurants, and local partners
• Handle itinerary changes and last-minute requests in real time
• Manage multiple trips simultaneously during peak season
• Deliver high-touch service with professionalism and care

What We’re Looking For:

• Native Italian speaker
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Strong knowledge of Italy, its culture, regions, and traditions
• Experience or interest in luxury travel and hospitality
• Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills
• Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays when needed

A few days ago we were in Modena meeting new partners, not in a showroom or boardroom, but in an attic. Because when you talk about Aceto Balsamico Tradizionale di Modena, the real conversation happens inside an acetaia, surrounded by small wooden barrels that have been there for generations.

Traditional balsamic starts with cooked grape must. Nothing else. Then it ages slowly in a series of barrels: 12 years to be called Affinato. 25 years to become Extravecchio.

But what truly defines it is continuity. Many families start a new set of barrels when a child is born, allowing the balsamic to mature alongside them for decades.

Splitting her time between New England and Lucca, Tuscany, Amy’s connection to Italy has been shaped through decades of lived experiences, family roots, and a deep love for the country. With family roots in Abruzzo, years spent studying in Rome, and a life shaped by her ongoing connection to Italy, her relationship with the country has always been deeply personal.

At Life Beyond the Room, we believe the most meaningful journeys happen when Italy becomes more than a destination, when it feels personal, emotional, and truly lived.

Between Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast, overlooking a stretch of sea that defines Italian coastal beauty, we experienced a ceramic decoration workshop that went far beyond what you would expect from a simple class.

Led by a young artist who chose to stay in her homeland, this experience preserves local traditions in a way that feels alive. In her family home, we were welcomed by two generations, united by a deep sense of hospitality.

Through colors and quiet moments, we learned to slow down, decorate with intention, and connect with an art form rooted in this part of Italy.

This wasn’t just a workshop. It was an encounter with the authentic identity of this part of the country.

When traveling, the best cooking classes take you far beyond the kitchen. They demonstrate the authenticity and culinary identity of the destination in a way that changes how you view food altogether.

We experienced a cooking class in Raito that did just that, creating local delicacies as the Amalfi Coast stretched before us.

Every gesture carried meaning, from kneading to cutting to tasting. These were not just techniques, but a form of inheritance. The ingredients spoke the language of the land, while the local wines carried the mineral depth of Monte Vesuvio

It was more than a lesson. It was a return to the identity of the region.

Just beyond the vibrant energy of Naples stands one of Italy’s most breathtaking royal residences, and yet it remains surprisingly under the radar for many travelers.

The Reggia di Caserta, commissioned by the Bourbon kings in the 18th century, is often compared to the Palace of Versailles, and rightfully so. In many ways, its grandeur, scale, and harmony rival, and even surpass, its famous French counterpart.

Inside, endless sequences of opulent rooms unfold with frescoed ceilings, monumental marble staircases, and richly decorated royal apartments that reflect the vision and power of an entire dynasty.
Outside, vast gardens stretch for kilometers, where cascading fountains, sculptures, and perfectly aligned perspectives create a setting that feels almost cinematic.
