One of our favorite places for families and honeymooners alike! It’s the best combination of a jungle and coastal getaway plus amazing food.
And yes, totally worth the flight!

And really, everyone.
Couples, groups, even families.
We just sent a dad in his 70s + his son in his 30s.

Here’s how we do it :
📍 Sacred Valley first. Started at Belmond Rio Sagrado on the river. Beginning lower makes the altitude so much easier before Cusco.
🚂 Hiram Bingham train both ways. This is the luxury train to Machu Picchu, with dining on board. It’s half the fun.
🏔 A night at Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. It’s the only hotel right at the gates of Machu Picchu. Plus, they got a complimentary spa treatment through my partner perks.
⛪ Cusco to finish at Belmond Monasterio, a 16th-century monastery turned hotel.

And they went in September, which is the best weather of the year there!

We’ve been all about the domestic family getaways this year! And Chicago was a perfect long weekend with the kids.
Stay : Four Seasons Hotel Chicago - perfectly located!! Steps from shopping - which was not on our agenda but as you see, things happened! Would be the perfect base for a mom-daughter Official American Girl trip!!
Also, the hotel felt perfectly kid friendly… a whole room transformed into a playroom, on weekends they offer a complimentary kids buffet for dinner, and let me tell you, the pool was vibe (for kids!) 😎
